Ocracoke Lighthouse

The first thing we did when we arried on the Island of Ocracoke, was to go visit the lighthouse there. You can't go up in this one, but you can walk in the bottom and look up. It's not a tall light house, but he man on duty said this was the place where those on the island gather when there are hurricans or tropical storms.

As we walked out, we saw this animal. It wasn't a beaver, but I don't know what it is: a ground hog? marmott? ?...
