Ferry Ride to Ocracoke Island, NC with the seagulls

While waiting in line for the (free) Ferry (part of NC highway system) we broke out the food and made sandwiches for lunch. Of course the kids thought it'd be a good idea to share a bit with ONE seagull. As you know, one quickly becomes 25. Here is a shot of one that made itself comfortable on top of our car...

Here's a shot from farther back. You can see other seagulls on the ground to scrounge up what they can...

Both there and on the way back, Uncle Earl and those in his car got on one ferry boat--the last one making it on, and we had to wait for the next boat.

Here's some shots of our ride across...

The seagulls follow the ferry by just kind of gliding along in the air. So Spencer decided to get out another peace of bread and it was an attack. Here Jordan is ducking to get away from the gathering seagulls while Peter looks out at the water.

We got seagull poop on the car, but had fun anyway on the Ferry ride. Here is one last shot of a seagull on top of the Ferry's peak...
