Birthday Boy

We moved while I was pregnant with my second little boy.  It's hard to believe we've been here for 7 1/2 years.  My little guy is 7!  He has an over adventurous spirit, but such a tender heart.  Oh how we love our Spencer boy!!!!
Here he is enjoying the beaters on March 29th...
 Messy face kid...
On April 2nd he came home from school and didn't feel quite well, so he curled up for a nap with his cat...

The Birthday boy had been so eager and excited for his birthday to arrive.  Here we are singing to him...
 Spencer and his "twin" Jonathan...
 The presents...
 Money...

 Legos...
 More Legos...
Go Cougars!  A shirt from G-parents Olson...

A new nerf gun that can shoot two darts at once...
 A new movie...
Spencer choose Oreo Truffles instead of cake...

May all your wishes come true!

Easter Festivities

I am not a big fan of Easter falling in March.  But, what can ya do?  We colored 6 dozen eggs (one dozen hard boiled ) at home on Friday, the 29th of March.  We had a ball.  The kids colored until their hearts were content.

Kam, Kate, Spence (Jordan was babysitting or something and did hers later)

On Saturday the 30th, we participated in the Maumelle egg hunt.  Since it was raining, they held it indoors at the community center.  Usually they start 10 minutes late to give everyone time to get there.  Since it was inside, they did shifts.  We didn't make it there in time for the first hunt, because we couldn't find a place to park.  The littles still got to participate, but their weren't as many prizes in our plastics eggs as in the hunt before.  Oh well.

We had our family hunt inside at home later that day.
The baskets...

I didn't go shopping of any Easter clothes, until the 30th.  I didn't do so bad though.  All the kids had something new, except Sidnie, but her dress was new to her (a hand-me-down) that worked perfect.
Spencer had to get the cat involved...

Our tulips bloomed just in time for Easter (there weren't too many, but enough)...

A few days later (April 2nd)...

 The last two daffodils...

Me having a little bit of fun with the Robin Eggs...

Petit Jean

March 29th was Good Friday, so the kiddos didn't have school. James just happened to have the Galaxy (Extension) Conference up at Petit Jean Mountain, so we all went up to spend the night with him in his hotel room.  The plan was to hike the next day, and even though there was lots of rain, we headed out to explore anyway...
Our first stop was this old water tower.  And they had to climb up it.  First on the outside...
 Then on the inside...
Next we went to the bear caves...
Girls on one side, boys on the other...
The boys wanted to explore some rocks and we ended up following a path to see Cedar Falls from above.
On the go...
 Strike a pose...
 By the water...
 Don't fall in...
 Spencer kept moving on ahead...

After that initial exploring/hiking in the rain, and it's muddy aftermath, we visited the lodge for the bathroom and the boys discovered the fireplace...

Three opted to stay at the lodge/van while the rest of us hiked to Ceder Falls.

Someone came to our aide for this shot...

Zack got back to the van before we did, so this is how we found him...
And on the way home, this happened...
It was way past lunch time after our hiking adventures, so we stopped in Conway on the way home at Logan's Roadhouse.  YUM!
