Ward Valentine's Party

Here we are all dressed up and ready to go...
Here is what I posted on Facebook for Valentine's...
They say you can't be perfect, but James P. Marshall has always been PERFECT for me!
Happy Valentine's Day. (5)

Pinewood Derby

Spencer and Zack are a part of different Cub Scout groups.  Zack is in our Ward's group and Spencer is part of our town's group since the church doesn't do Tiger Cubs.  One is a lot better funded than the other.  Pack 295 had their Pinewood Derby on the 16th.
Spencer designed his car and had James help him create it.  Then he painted it and Mom put a modge podge coat to make it shine.  He got assigned number #26.
A view of most of the 49 cars...
 Spencer's first heat...he was in lane 2.
Getting the cars in place on the track...
Spencer won this first heat.  I was happy.  Car #25 that checked in right before us was carved fancy and painted/decorated fancy and had weights strategically placed.  The scout leader commented on how did a young boy like himself do all that.  He repsonded:  "My Dad did it."  The leader said:  "You are supposed to do it."  The boy replied:  "My Dad wouldn't let me help."  I was pleased that our plain car beat the one the dad made.
Spencer is in lane 3 in this second heat...
The end of his second heat...

Haley Wood, Sid and another girl playing on the ipad and an iphone.  We lost the i-phone 3 we use as an ipod and it still bothers me.  James had it in the bag he says, but we didn't get home with it and it hasn't shown up...yet!
Spence, Jonathan, Zack and Natalie watching the races...
 From the other side...
A race car they had outside to go see...

And...Spencer took 2nd place in the Tigers division and got a trophy (along with his participation medal).
I love the joy on the faces of my boy and the other Tiger scout.  They are so excited to "win" something.
 Yay Spencer!

Another baby blanket

Natalie Stewart is having a baby boy.  I had some bigger pieces of Minkee left, so I decided to piece them together.  Then I found a decent cowboy flannel for the front.  Here's how it turned out...
It's been great to get to know Natalie better serving with her in YWs.  We can't wait to meet little Frank.

Spence

Here is a shot Spencer had someone take in our bedroom of him jumping off the headboard on the 13th...

The 3 littles had Valentine's parties at school on the 14th.  The school posted some photos of Spencer's class, so I copied them here...

I was supposed to go to Sid's party, but I was clear out in the boonies trying to find my newest visiting teachee.  I was lucky I made it back in time to pick her up from school.  I did find the house, and I'm pretty sure someone was there, but they didn't answer.  I left a treat and note instead.

Kammie came straight from swimming and had lost/pulled two teeth at practice.  Here is her new grin.  It will be fun to get Kammie into YW's to participate with us.  Right now she is the only girl her age that comes and is Primary singing sharing time by herself in her age group.  She will be ready to come in by her birthday and then head to Girls Camp.

I enjoy serving in YW.  We have great leaders and teachers (advisors), who do so much to serve and bless our children.
