Honor Roll

This is from the first 9 weeks of school, but I didn't take the picture until the Thanksgiving lunch visit.  At any rate, Zacky is doing good in school and we are appreciative of his efforts.  Better getting this picture up late, than never.
Zack's name is listed under the AB section.

Fun in the country!

December 1st, Jordan had another horseback riding lesson.  Kammie and Sidnie tagged along to see the cats and enjoy the great outdoors.

Pretty Girl

Sidnie had put these window clings up on the back door's glass.  She was excited about it and asked her Dad to take her picture.  He did and then she immediately asked to see it.  She realized that her hair was a mess and found a brush.  After fixing her hair, she had him re-take the picture.

Math and Science Night

Zack and Spencer's elementary school hosted the coolest Math and Science night...right at the Museum of Discovery on the 29th of November.  Kam and Zack skipped Tae Kwon Do to attend with us.  (Kate drove herself to TKD.)

One of the favorite things was this Scarf Blowing thing.  You put a scarf in one place or another and watch it as it travels through the air tubes and pops out somewhere else.
Here Spencer is catching one while lying on the floor.
 Kam with scarves.

Kam trying to get a scarf unstuck as Jordan watches.
James had this one land right on top of his head--without even trying.
Zack reaching to grab some scarves as they float downward.
Watching them go!

This was the younger child's area.  There was a ship, lighthouse, rock climbing area, stage with dress up clothes, a reading corner and more.
Here are the littles in a row boat...

It was a great night and we all had a really good time and learned some cool things while we were there.

Pack Meeting

Spencer became a Tiger Cub Scout in September.  He has been going each week and having lots of fun.  At the pack meeting in November, they were asked to bring something to show from what they had been working on in scouts.  While Spencer's den was earning their Astronomy belt loop.  They learned about the stars and planets, then got to go out and look through a telescope to see Jupiter and 3 of it's moons.  To finish up earning the belt loop, they were asked to draw and label the parts of a telescope.  This is what Spencer decided to display at Pack Meeting on November 27th.

This is Spencer explaining his poster/drawing from back in my seat.

Then I decided to move closer.
He did a great job.

Here he is getting his Marbles belt loop and his rewards for selling $970 of Scout Popcorn.

His den was also in charge of the color guard duties that night.  Spencer got to carry the American Flag.

Randomness

Found this flying in the air near our home on Nov. 27th.
I didn't have time to pursue it, but I love Hot Air Balloons.

On the 28th, it was foggy taking Sidnie to school...

Mr. Sun was looking rather cool through the fog...

Of course, that made traffic worse than usual.

On the night of the 28th, the moon was so big and bright, it looked like you could reach out and touch it.  This photo doesn't do it justice.

Spirit Week for Sid

The week of Nov. 26th-30th, Sidnie's school had Spirit Week.  Each day the kids dressed up somehow.  We forgot on mismatch day, but participated in some of the other dress up days.

Tuesday was crazy hair day.
(She finally got to have ponytails all over like she has wanted since she started school and has seen some of the other girls' hair. 5 ponytails and a braid.)

One more from the back...

Wednesday was pajama day.  (Sorry, no photo.)

Thursday was Team colors day...
Go Cougars!  Her school mascot just happens to be a cougar as well.

Friday was Generations Day...we chose 50's, but we didn't have a poodle skirt.

I love her little pose...she did that all on her own.

All in all, it was a fun week!

Don't Forget the Star

On November 26th, we decorated our Christmas tree.  Since Sidnie is the youngest, she had the honor of putting the star on top.  (I've usually had an angel, but at the end of last season I found a star that would work.  Yay!)

And yes, we still have our $17 Walmart tree from when we were in school.  Since we ALWAYS travel at Christmas to see one family or the other, we haven't seen the need to spend lots of money on a decent tree yet.  Maybe someday, we will get a new one.  Or have a real one again.

2nd time's the charm...

In May of last year, we gave our sweet bus driver a carved wooden sign with her name on it.  Only it said Fields. Oooopppps!  I goofed in remembering her last name.  James finally had the time to finish this one, so we could make it right.  Thanks Ms. Kim for getting our children safely to and from school each day.
