Fundraiser Dinner for the Young Women

On May 10th, 2013 the Young Women of our ward held their annual fundraiser dinner (that the young men opted out of) to raise money for Girls Camp.  We had a Western Theme.
Our Young Women's President, Karen Beheshti, helped the girls decorate cakes for the baked goods auction if they wanted.   My girls took her up on that offer.

Granite Flats

As a family we have been watching BYU tv's show called Granite Flats.  We watched 3 episodes one night.  This is how it ended for the littles...

Welcome Home!

Our Young Women's president was gone on vacation (to Hawaii) for 10 days or so.  My kids decided to make a Welcome Home sign for them for their return.

While at horsebackriding...

Zack came with Jordan and I to horseback riding lessons.  Shortly after Jordan was up and riding, he told me there was a  huge "bug" in the "office" in the barn.  He wanted me to come see it, so I went with him.  It wasn't in the same spot as before when Zack had been there a few minutes before, but we found the "bug" anyway.  Only it wasn't a bug.  This poor little humming bird was stuck and couldn't get out the window.  He could see outside, but couldn't figure a way to get passed the hard glass on the window.  Who knows how long it had been struggling.  I couldn't just leave him there, so I found a box to get him in.  I got him in and covered the top as best I could, but he flew out and back to the window.  I tried again.  This time I got him into the box and out of the office and the barn.  He flew quickly into a nearby tree and landed on a branch.  Then he sat there forever just trying to regain strength.  Finally he flew off.

 Resting
 Free at last.

Back in the Barn, Zack found this pulley and had fun swinging from the rafters of the door way.

Zack also had fun jumping over the cross bars the horses jump.
Not a bad shot, huh?

Lavesco

Jordan road her new favorite horse on May 4th.  His name is Lavesco (sp?) and he is all the way from Germany.  At some point he was in the Olympic trials, but he hurt his foot and never competed.  Then Miss Sarah bought him and had him sent from there to here.  He is big and beautiful!

 Riding...

I took some photo's of another lady's son for her.  I've included this one so that you can see Jordan's instructor, Sarah Bradley off the the right in this picture.

Boosterthon Fun Run for Sid

Sidnie's school had their boosterthon fund raiser on May 1st.  She wasn't too sure about running, but together with Emily and Mom, we did the 35 laps.

Pack Meeting

Spencer's cub pack had a pack meeting on April 30th. He earned his Tiger badge, so it's tradition for them to be turned up-side-down while their parent pins the new patch on them.  They can then turn the patch right side up when they have done a job at home without being asked.
Spencer's "twin" Jonathan earned his too.

Spencer's 1st tooth is out

Spencer worked hard and wiggled his loose tooth to get it all the way out on April 30th.  He showed me that it was loose, but I didn't think it was loose enough to come out that day.  But Spencer had other plans.
He was excited for the tooth fairy to come visit him for the very first time.  He was not disappointed!
