Project Motherhood

Last year we asked the Young Women in our ward what sort of activities they were interested in doing.  We got some good responses and some shrugs.  Later, one girl commented to a leader...When are we going to learn to be mothers?  That was our inspiration for a new project for this year.  Once a month we will work on teaching the girls skills they can learn in the future as mothers and just in their own lives.  We will cover topics like:  cooking, sewing, cleaning, organizing, child care, budgeting, and whatever else comes to mind.  Our first Project Mother, on January 9th, focused on basic cooking.  We taught the girls about one of the basics...RICE.  And then they learned how to make fried rice from Sister Mardie Tobler.
