Hail storm--thankfully not on our new roof

James had a work meeting up on Mount Magazine (the highest point here in AR) and was able to take Jordan and Kammie along for some fun. (Kate was off to girls camp.) Kammie and Jordan "hiked" to the highest point with our friend, Nancy Goddard, while James and Wally were in meetings and then spent time at the pool. Later there was a big Hail storm. Here are a couple of shots from James' cell phone...

  1. Hailstorms can really damage your roof! Just imagine marble-like sized pieces being thrown on your roof. That's a terrible thing to imagine, right? Good thing that your roof is new, or else something wrong might happen.

  2. I have such a dislike for hail! It’s astonishing how much damage ice can do. I had to replace my then 6 year-old roof because of a major hailstorm a couple of years back. It’s a good thing your roof was new when the hail came, which meant the roof was at its strongest point. I hope no one was hurt and that the house didn’t take a lot of damage from the hailstorm!

  3. I guess the hailstorm came at a great time for your new roof. :D It’s good that the hailstorm happened when you already replaced your roof or else who knows how bad the damage could’ve been. Imagine the ice just making holes on your roof and landing on your living room! I just hope you still checked the roof after the hailstorm to see if it took a lot of damage.
