J's Horseback Riding Lessons

Jordan has been wanting to take horseback riding lessons for years.  We found a coupon so that if you paid for 4 lessons, you'd get one free.  We decided to pay for 5 lessons as a birthday present.  She was thrilled!

For her 1st lesson (on September 8th) she rode a horse named Hip Hop.  Look Mom, no hands...
 Riding backwards...
 Outside the arena...

2nd lesson (September 15th) riding Cody...

3rd lesson (September 22nd) on Cody again.
[Sometimes they ride in the arena, sometimes out in the fields.]

Standing in the saddle...

They spend time leading the horse, when Jordan couldn't get Cody to follow her commands.

Coming back in from the days ride...

I didn't take any photos of the fourth lesson, so our 5th Lesson was October 6th, riding Mooney...

It was cloudy and getting ready to storm, so Sarah had us end the lesson before our time was up and said to come back the following week.  [That turned out perfect, so we could get home in time to watch General Conference LIVE and not just a recording.  And we were not disappointed.  They made the major announcement to change the missionary age of when both men and women can serve.  Holy Cow!]

Kammie came along for this lesson and fell in love with the barn yard cats.  Especially this white and grey cat named Rose.  She climbs right up and sits on your shoulder.

Then Sarah was gone that next weekend, so we finally re-did lesson 5 on October 20th.  Here Jordan is on Mooney again...

Kammie had a swim meet in Cabot, so she was sad she couldn't come again.  I had fun with the cats though.  Rose and Midnight are great.  They are such nice cats.  (I've never seen farm/barn cats that are nice.  Usually they are wild and mean, but, these have been forced by the people to be used to humans.)

This sign can be found in the stables...
