Nursery Rhyme Parade

On Nov. 8, the kindergarteners were asked to dress up as their favorite nursery rhyme character.  I asked mine what she wanted to do.  The usual Little Miss Muffet came up since we have a big spider on an elastic string in our Halloween decorations.  Then, as we looked through our Nursery Rhyme book, I got an original idea that I knew no one else would do.  Since we have a black crow from a Maleficent costume, I thought Sid could be the maid in the garden who was hanging out the clothes when along came a black bird and snipped off her nose from Sing a Song of Sixpence.  Our little girl was so cute.  It was also dress as a favorite book character day for the boys.
Isn't she a cutie down to the band-aid on her nose...
 Harry Potter
 Trying to stay warm...
 All three together...
Spence wanted to be Percy Jackson, but I didn't have anything for that.  So, he was the Fox again from Hattie and the Fox or Chicken Licken.

The kindergartener's did a costume parade throughout the school...
Then they gathered in the multi-purpose room to recite some of the nursery rhyme's...

Ni-Ni

The Kindergartener's went on their first field trip to see the play The Little Engine that Could at the children's theater.  They could only take one adult, so I was not able to tag along on this one.

In November I went to lunch with the kids and took these of my ni-ni out on the playground.

Halloween

Usually pumpkins are over priced, so, like I did last year, I waited until it was practically Halloween to buy some.  Last year it worked out for me.  Stores were ready to clear the pumpkins out and they had been marked down.  NOT this year.  There was a shortage of pumpkins this year and I had to go to 5 places before I found some.  And when I did find them, it was at a nursery and they were over priced.  Ooops!  I bought three anyway (one big, one medium, and one small) so the kids would be able to carve them and so we could roast the seeds.
Jordan got creative and just cut slits in hers
 The roasted seeds...yum!
And we roasted the pumpkin and make a pie with J's the next day.

We had some ice skating/roller skating passes that expired on Oct. 31st, so the older girls invited all their member friends to go with them.  James took the older girls to the Skatium, while I trick or treated with the Middles and Littles.  We went with our friends the Walz mostly in their neighborhood and then for a little bit in ours.

 And out we go...
We walked a ton and got lots of candy.  A good time was had by all.

Elemenatry Dress up days...

The elementary kidlets had Crazy Sock day and Sports Fan day.
Here are my Cougar Fans out in Razorback Nation...
Zack got this injury on crazy sock day.  For PE they were playing a game and while running a girl right in front of Zack decided to sit down.  Zack fell over the top of her and it the pavement hard.  He was all scraped up, but lived to tell about it.

Sister Missionaries

One of my childhood friend's niece arrived in the mission field in our area in October.  We had them over for dinner on the 27th of October.  How fun to get to know Sister Garbe and her companions.  And boy does she have an Angelic voice!

Gotta love Zack's eyes in this one...
And my son has added Sister Garbe to the list of girls he "loves."  My little Spencenova.
