"Our" Cat Peppy

There is a cat, named Peppy, whose owners live 4 doors down from us. He roams the neighborhood and has made a few visits here. He's a nice cat, so we let him in. Recently though, the cat has lived here. He's here first thing in the morning. We turn on the light to go wake Kate up for early morning seminary and he's right there outside the door meowing to be let in. He makes himself right at home and only wants to go out when he needs to go to the bathroom or after he's suffered enough torture from Spencer and Sidnie. [Spencer loves this cat. He carts if off to his room and tries to keep him in there. One time I found Peppy locked in his closet. They lay on him, pull his tail, and all sorts of other things.] He's such a good cat too and puts up with all of it. He'll even be here late at night, all curled up on our bed. We put him out at night and he's ususally o.k. with that, but has come back meowing when there has been a storm in the middle of the night. It's gotten to the point that I need to go down to Charles and Betty's house and ask what they feed Peppy, because he is here all the time and wants to eat, although he is a great hunter. [We find Bird feathers, or other animal parts in our yard every now and then. We've even seen Peppy with a rabbit or mouse in his mouth (Zack even picked up a mouse he rescued from Peppy once).] James joked the other day: I'm sure glad we've gotten Christmas taken care of since you guys have always wanted a pet and now we have Peppy. The kids were not too thrilled with that. Anyway, here are some pictures of "our" cat.

Jordan petting Peppy.
Helping himself to someone's leftover milk from their morning cereal bowl.
Spence and Sid laying their heads on the cat.
As you can see, they use Peppy as a pillow often--here again with Spencer.
Curled up to sleep on our bench with Sidnie's blanky.

Then one time when we let Peppy in, he went straight to the master bathroom and jumped up on the sink and began meowing. James turned on the water at his sink and Peppy drank right from the faucet for about 5 minutes straight. Now the cat does that regularly. Here are some shots of that...
