Hollywood Squares

For our combined YM/YW's on March 27th, we played Hollywood Squares. The kids dressed up as actors and then played good old tic tac toe by agreeing or disagreeing with the answers to the "stars" questions.

Full Moon

When you live in a place where there are no real mountains, you have the opportunity to see the moon when it's just rising on the horizon with nothing to obstruct it. The moon is BIG and so fun to see. It was beautiful as I was driving home with Spencer from Scouts, but then I couldn't get a great shot of it closer to my house. But here are the attempts. They don't do it justice, but...

Pack Meeting

On March 26th, Pack 295 had another pack meeting. The Tigers got to do the flag ceremony. Spencer got there a little bit late, so he was asked to carry the new ribbon to had to the pack flag post.

Hair full of Pizzazz

I asked Sidnie one night if I could braid her hair. She let me, but got tired after a while of all the little braids. But she was happy the next morning to have cool hair.

Trip to the Zoo

For Spring Break (even though it was cold) we went to the Zoo. I have never seen a crowd so big on a regular non-school field trip day. But as zoo members, we got to bypass the line and got right in. We still had to brave the crowds to see the animals, but we did it.

Zack's wart

In 2011, Zack had a small wart on the top of his foot. We went to the pediatrician and had it frozen off. It blistered in the next few days and Zack ripped it off. The wart seemed to be gone. Then he wore shoes all winter long and we never noticed that the wart had started to grow back (in a ring around the original wart, called a ring wart). But in the Summer of 2012 when he started to go swimming and wear his shoes less, we noticed. We went back to Dr. Byrum and he tried some injections of two different medicines. It did nothing. We did this three times, with no luck. Finally he referred us to a dermatologist. March 19th was our first visit with Dr. Gibson. We were hoping he'd just cut it off and we could be done with it, but he doesn't want to "scar" our child. [He must mean more mentally than physically.] So he is doing a series of freezing it and putting blister medicine on it. Then, each night we wash and dry his foot, put compound W on it and a piece of duck tape. We've seen Dr. Gibson twice. He seems to have a view of self importance and we continue on this path. Hopefully it works before we brake the bank paying for all these co-pays.
