James was off to the temple with our oldest girls, so I took the middles and the littles to the swim meet. All but the youngest swims anyway. Usually the home team warms up first, but the Otters had us 1st for warm ups. That was a blessing because we got their first and had great parking spaces that are tough to get at their pool usually. :D It was a great day!

The Otter Creek pool as a seperate warm up pool that has a diving pool attached to it. You weren't supposed to get on it, but you could warm up and down in the other pool. Two years ago while at this pool, Zacky wanted to go off the diving board really bad. He finally found a chance and snuck over and went off. This time, I encouraged him to go have a shot at it again. He made it successfully...
Zack on the diving board...
Zacky's Splash...
Triumphant...
And I was obviously able to document his efforts. [When I showed James the pictures later, he said: "You put him up to it didn't you?" What could I say? He was right.]
Kammie then wanted to try too. They both got up on the higher dive and quickly went off one after the other. Kammie went off first this time with Zack right behind her. Zacky got an earful from a lifeguard, but Kammie got away with it. Spencer didn't get the chance. Spencer and Sidnie were sleepy kiddos on the ride home...
The Results...
*Most pools in the summer swimming league are 25 yard pools. The Otter Creek pool is 25 meters. So times have to be converted back into yards for the results to match fairly with the other pools. So, this may get confusing.
Spencer 25 meter kickboard 53.44 {48.14 in yards} 10th place of 18.
25 meter freestyle 41.62 {37.50 in yards} 5th place Bronze
25 meter backstroke 47.65 {42.93 in yards} 3rd place Bronze (1 point)
Zack 25 meter freestyle 18.76 {16.90 in yards} 1st place Gold (5 points) [16.80 is the Marlins record.]
25 meter backstroke 23.71 {21.36 in yards} 1st place Gold (5 points)
25 meter Butterfly 24.06 {21.68 in yards} 1st place Silver with a Gold time (5 points)
100 meter IM 1:59.19 {1:47.38 in yards} 1st place Gold (5 points) [And remember, he did the whole thing without his goggles.]
100 meter Freestyle Team Relay 1:42.06 1st place (7 points)
Kammie 50 meter freestyle 36.15 {32.57 in yards} 1st Place Gold (5 points)
50 meter Backstroke 44.50 {40.09 in yards} 1st place Gold (5 points)
50 meter Butterfly 45.15 {40.68) in yards} 1st place Gold (5 points)
100 meter IM 1:38.09 {1:28.37 in yards} 1st place Gold (5 points)
100 meter Freestyle Team Relay 1:07.09 1st place (7 points)
Way to go Marshall Marlins.
