Since I hit the old refridgerator with the van (see previous post), we have searched for a decent used one. James looked on Craig's list and found one in Cabot. He arranged to get off work early and drive the 40 miles to see the fridge. He got out there and found the lady wasn't home. He waited for a while, and finally called her. She said: "Didn't you get my text?" James had not. She explained that she had gotten off work late, and was 1/2 hour behind. He said he would wait.
The half hour passed and still no lady. He had sat in his car and made Bishopric phone calls to ask people to speak and stuff and then paced the neighborhood some. Finally he called the lady again and she never answered and NEVER showed up. How Rude! She probably sold it to someone else and didn't have the decency to tell us. A wasted trip.
Time went by and James was able to find another one in Jacksonville. This is also quite a ways away. I was leary of him making another trip, but this one was okay. He bought the white FrigidAire for $150. It's newer than our old one and looks better. The edges are rounded on this one and not just a pointed corner where the two sides meet.
There has been just one catch...cockroaches. James didn't see any at the lady's apartment when he bought it, but he found several inside the back and other crevices we can't get to, as he cleaned it out and got it ready to use. So the white powder you see on the ground is boric acid to kill the nasty bugs. Oh Joy! Once again, we are trying to push back the invaders here in AR that want to find their way inside.
