We drive to Utah at least once and year (sometimes two) and usually go the southern route [across Arkansas, OK, TX and NM, to then head up to Orem through NM, CO and UT through Monticello, Moab, Price and Spanish Fork Canyon. We drive past the Arches National Park enrance and before you come to the Hole N the Rock store area before Moab, there is an arch just off the side of the road. This year we finally stopped and hiked up to it. It was a bit windy and some of the kids got cold (and didn't have the right kind of hiking shoes, but it was fun and gave our backsides a rest from sitting in the car.
A look up from the parking area at the Arch.
Spencer on his way up (a recreation of a Zacky hiking picture in Zion's a few years back.)
James standing in the arch with all the kids.
