Not long after we arrived home from our two day drive from Virginia, Zack required a trip to the ER. We unpacked the car and were giving the boys haircuts. Zack began jumping from our deck, over the bushes and onto the grass. When James saw him do it, he pointed out the green metal trim that lined between the grass and the flowerbed and told him to make sure he cleared it, or he would break his foot. Well, sure enough, a few jumps later he landed on the metal trim. But rather than break his foot, he just sliced it open.
He didn't cry afterwards, but ran to the front yard and then saw blood, so he came back. We brought him inside to clean it and check out the damage. Well, It was DEEP. He sliced nicely into his big toe from the underside. We took him to our friend who is a doctor and he could see clean into his foot and was concerned about the tendon. So, we were off to the ER. Too bad they never really took a good look at it. I hope it won't get infected and that there is not tendon damage.
The waiting room.
Being called back--FINALLY!
Some numbing drops.
Getting it clean.
Getting the shot to really numb it up. Zack went from laughing to crying in an instant.
Getting sewn up (without them ever really looking into the wound to see how bad the damage was. Just "It's a laceration. Let's stitch it up."
Four stitches!

Seems like you guys always seem to end up sick or in the hospital ON your trips. Close enough I guess! Hope his foot heals up alright.
