Boxer/Rain

As always, our kids want a pet. On the 23rd, I found a box turtle while on a run with James. I picked it up to bring home to show the kids. (The turtle had a nice bouncy "run" home to our home. We had a good ways to go before we got home--over a mile.) The kids of course were excited to see it and quickly named him Boxer. I said we could keep it if we knew for sure that he was eating. We had him in a big plastic box container for a week and then built a nice home for him yesterday in a fenced in area, so he could crawl around and be outside.






We got tons of rain last night. I just checked and one source said that North Little Rock (we are right near there) got 5.57 inches in the 24 hours that ended this morning at 7 am. And we have gotten rain all day in addition to that and more is in the forecast. As far as we can tell, there must have been a river flowing through our back yard last night. The new home we built for boxer must have had water flowing through it, so he's back inside in the "box" for now...

Our home has been fine (so far), but our friend's house had water as high as 4 feet in their yard and had at least 4" come insdie their home. They've been pulling up wet carpet. Yikes!
