Sid's animals

At Sidnie's school they keep different animals.  They've helped house some chickens and a Rooster on their playground, while the older kids were taking their benchmark exams.  Another class as some bunny rabbits.  And someone else brought in their Guinea pig.  Sidnie loves them all.  For the last few months, everyday when I pick her up from school, we have to go visit the bunny.  At first there were two we would visit--Cocoa and Pepper.  But since one is a male and the other a female, they got to the point where they couldn't house them together anymore.  We go visit Cocoa almost everyday.

Swim Practice

On April 8th, Coach Andrew let the few kids that came to practice dive or jump over a pole.  My camera wasn't the best, but here are a couple of photos I took.

A little blurry, but they are learning and improving.  We appreciate the time the coaches take to help them progress.

Elementary School Stuff

They had an awards assembly on April 5th at the elementary school that I didn't know about, therefore, I didn't attend.  Thankfully, the school took and posted pictures.

On April 18, there was a PTO meeting.  Spencer and the 1st graders participated in several line dances to show what they have been learning in PE.

Twins?

Spencer and Jonathan could be twins, except for the fact that Jon already has a twin...a sister named Natalie.  We love the Walz family.  They met in Pre-K (all three in the same class) and have been great friends ever since.

Even though Spring Break was cold back in March, we met our friends at Lake Willastein and went for a walk.  Of course the boys had to find every nook and cranny to explore.
Here they are out on a tree that had fallen into the lake...

On April 6th, after general conference, James went off to the priesthood session and I took Spencer and Zack to an Arkansas Travelers baseball game.  Spencer's Tiger Cub den all met there at the game to pass of a cub requirement.  I can't say they watched a whole lot of the game, but they did have fun.

Project Motherhood: Pie Crusts

On April 10th we had another Project Motherhood in Young Women's.  This time I was in charge.  I taught them how to make pie crusts.
Gathering and waiting to begin...
 Sister Beheshti passing out aprons...
 Kaylianna...
 Eve, Maddie and Sister Windsor...
 Karen getting things started...
I'm not a pro at this, but I am grateful that Cherry Pie was my favorite dessert growing up so that I learned how to make pie crusts and not be intimidated by it.  It is a great skill to have.

 My captive audience...

We weren't set up with a professional kitchen with mirrors, but we made it work...

 Let's roll it out...
Now it was time for the girls to make their own...

You can do so much with a pie crust besides making pies, there is quiche, pot pies, tarts, turnovers, etc.  We hope all the girls had fun and learned something.

Horseback Riding Lessons on April 6th, 2013

Another horse back riding lesson for Jordan where the littles were able to tag-a-long to play in the barn and on the farm.

We went out near a pasture to feed the horses some grass that we had picked.

They had a blast as always.  There is excitement in being in the "country."
